One of the major daily fantasy sports providers in the US, DraftKings, has come up with many announcements in the past few months. At the end of June, we’ve reported that this company introduced a standalone casino app in New Jersey. This app features new games that can be found only there, along with the updated versions of the classics like blackjack and roulette.

Furthermore, just a few days ago, it was announced that DraftKings launched their sports betting app in Illinois. The app is launched in cooperation with the state casino operator Casino Queen. Now, players in Illinois will be able to bet on a broad range of games thanks to the DraftKings mobile app.

Today we have another DraftKings launch in another US state. Namely, DraftKings has teamed up with the New Hampshire Lottery to launch a retail sportsbook at The Brook Casino Resort.

The first retail sportsbook in New Hampshire

The US daily fantasy sports provider DraftKings announced a new retail sportsbook in New Hampshire. In fact, this is the first retail sportsbook in the state that DraftKings launched in cooperation with the New Hampshire Lottery. The sportsbook features betting kiosks and video walls and is located within the Brook’s ‘Stadium’ sports entertainment place, which includes three cinema screens and hundreds of TVs. Currently, mobile sports betting in New Hampshire has more than 42,000 registered users, and it’s expected that the addition of the new sportsbook will increase the revenue for education in the state.

Following the announcement, the New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu said that he is extremely glad that The Brook is opening a new retail sportsbook, just after the return of the most popular sports leagues. He added that this sportsbook represents the next evolution for the New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings and that it will become the preferred sports betting destination in the Northeast. Besides having the opportunity to wager online, sports fans now have a new retail location where they can place bets on their favourite teams.

The Brook CEO, Andre Carrier, has also commented on this launch, saying that the casino is proud to collaborate with the New Hampshire Lottery and DraftKings. He promised the sports fans that the new retail sportsbook will offer a ‘state-of-the-art, dynamic betting experience’. On the other hand, Draftkings chief business officer described the collaboration as a way of bringing immersive and entertaining in-person sports betting experience to sports fans in New Hampshire.

Caesars Entertainment launches a campaign for new casino in Virginia

In the meantime, there has been news on the gambling situation in Virginia. Yesterday, Caesars Entertainment formally launched a campaign to gain support for a new casino in Danville, Virginia. This comes after the Virginia Lottery posted more sports betting regulations as another step in the process of legalising sports betting no later than January.

Danville chose Caesars as its preferred casino partner in May to construct a casino on the city’s Dan River Mills Schoolfield site. The Caesars’ campaign aims to promote the economic and employment benefits that the new casino would bring to the city. According to Caesars, the new casino would open 900 construction jobs and over 1,000 operational jobs, as well as $34m in additional tax revenue to the city. In addition, the campaign serves as a reminder to put the question about a new casino in Danville on the November 3 ballot.
