Last week we reported on the situation of online betting in Colorado, where the state opened the doors for betting operators to set up their sports betting shops. Following these circumstances, FanDuel announced that it will launch mobile sports betting deals in Colorado as well as an online casino in Pennsylvania.
The daily fantasy sports provider is known for its gaming services that made it the second-largest DFS operator in the country. Now, they’re expanding their services to Colorado by bringing one of the top US sportsbooks into the state. In addition, FanDuel is launching an online casino in Pennsylvania.
Bringing mobile sports betting in Colorado
This Monday, FanDuel has announced that it will bring online sports betting in Colorado together with DraftKings. FanDuel will enter the Colorado market as an industry leader. This will be the fifth state where FanDuel mobile sportsbooks are present, including Pennsylvania, Jersey, Indiana, and West Virginia. The two gaming competitors concluded deals with Twin River Worldwide Holding that will allow them three mobile sports betting licenses known as “skins”.
As stated in a press release, FanDuel plans to give more betting options and markets than any other competitor. They will also include in-play offerings and traditional betting options. When it comes to the retail location, FanDuel still hasn’t specified it, but it will probably be either at Golden Gulch or at Golden Gates, both of which are Twin River’s Colorado properties.
The players in Colorado can expect a competitive online betting marketplace having in mind that Colorado is currently the largest stage of the battle between FanDuel and DraftKings. According to Colorado law, sports betting can start from May 1. FanDuel, as well as the other online betting operators, will certainly try to launch then but will need final approvals from the state regulators.
Meanwhile, an online casino is launching in Pennsylvania
FanDuel doesn’t stop there. Last Friday, FanDuel announced that it’ll join five other online operators in Pennsylvania by launching their own brand. Currently, the online casino leaders in Pennsylvania are PokerStars Casino and SugarHouse, so FanDuel will have to compete with them at being the top in the online casino games available in Pennsylvania.
FanDuel got its license to offer online slots and table games in Pennsylvania through its partnership with Valley Forge Casino. Furthermore, the partnership allows FanDuel to offer its sportsbook products in Pennsylvania where players can bet on different sports betting markets both in the casino and online. Currently, FanDuel’s online casino in Pennsylvania is available on Android and iOS devices.
With the latest online casino by FanDuel, it now runs two online casinos in the US - this one in Pennsylvania, as well as one in New Jersey, branded under the name BetFair. FanDuel’s online casino in Pennsylvania is available on the company’s sportsbook app. It includes 12 online slot games and five online table games that are selected by the operators as the most popular. However, players can expect that FanDuel will increase the range of games they offer.
