Released: 11 Oct 2022
It is not unusual to see historical events become the theme of a video slot. Although this is true, there is no one better than Nolimit City at taking sensitive topics and turning them into games. I am always eager to see what else this provider comes up with, and this month it's time for some US history - specifically Little Bighorn. The Little Bighorn slot focuses on this legendary battle and offers up to 25.676x the stake! You can learn more in my detailed review below.
Little Bighorn Slot Review
As I said, Nolimit City is in a class of its own. Its games are unique in every sense - from the visuals to the themes and gameplay. Although the Little Bighorn slot is not as wild as some other games, like the Mental slot and the Remember Gulag slot, it is still quite distinctive. In true Nolimit City fashion, the game is packed with xMount, Totem Wilds, Spirit Call Respins, Scalp Freespins, and much more.

Unusual and complex layouts are typical for Nolimit City, and this game is no different. In the Little Bighorn slot, the gird comprises five reels, whose rows are in a 3-4-5-3-2 formation. Moreover, there are 360 ways to win, requiring at least 3 matching symbols to land successively from left to right.
The developers have also done an excellent job with the betting options. They range from £0.20 to £100 per spin, making them inclusive for most players.
Visually, the reel set comes with a plain design, so all the attention is on the symbols and the backdrop. Speaking of the backdrop, it presents a field during sunset, with tall rock formations in the distance. In my opinion, the animations are the best part, showing warriors running on horseback. The game also has spectacular graphics and a perfectly selected soundtrack to keep things interesting.
Starting from the bottom, the paytable comprises a knife, a pistol, a pipe, a gun, and an axe. On the other hand, the high-paying symbols are presented as different characters, of which the top symbol is worth 3.75x the stake.
A totem head acts as the game's scatter symbol, while the wild has the typical role of substituting regular pay symbols.
Despite lower rates being available, the Little Bighorn RTP is capped at 96.06% and is paired with a maximum win potential of up to 25,676x the stake. Moreover, the volatility falls in the high range, which, even during my gameplay, delivered scarce but highly valuable rewards.

As is often the case with Nolimit City games, the Little Bighorn slot is packed with bonus features. Let's start from the beginning and see what my experience with them was like.
xMount - Scalp Wilds Feature
These special Sca;p wilds can only land on the middle reel. When it lands, all American soldier symbols will be turned wild, after which it will nudge to fully cover the reel. Each nudge will 'scalp' the American soldier wilds, adding a +1 multiplier.
Totem Scatters Feature
Managing to land 1 or 2 of these symbols simultaneously will transform them into wilds, while 3 will trigger the Scalp Freespins.
No Mercy Scatter - Spirit Call Respin Feature
Appearing only on the last reel, it will trigger a respin and the scatter moves to the first reel. Once that is done, the No Mercy scatter will turn into one of the Native American characters:
- Sitting Bull - all of its instances will turn into expanding wilds;
- Crazy Horse - all of its instances will turn into regular wilds, each one adding a +1 multiplier;
- Two Moon - two instances will be turned wild.
Scalp Freespins Feature
This feature requires 3 Totem scatters to land simultaneously, awarding 8 free spins. Every time a Scalp wild lands, it will contribute to the multiplier with each scalped symbol. Totem scatters will award an additional free spin, while a No Mercy scatter will active the Spirit Call Freespins.
Spirit Call Freespins Feature
Things are a bit trickier when activating this feature, as I needed to land 3 Totem scatters and 1 No Mercy scatter simultaneously for 10 free spins. The grand changes to a 2-3-4-5-3 row formation, and the No Mercy scatter will remain on the reels. Moreover, it will transform into one of the Native American character symbols on each free spin.
Nolimit Bonus Feature
This feature is not available in the UK, but it allows players to directly buy their way into one of the bonus features. The Scalp Freespins feature costs 77x the stake, the Spirit Call Freespins are 490x the stake, and the third option is 159.5x the stake for increased chances to trigger them.
Other Nolimit City Slots
As one of the most eccentric providers in the industry, Nolimit City has a truly unique array of games to offer. Some more notable mentions include the Karen Maneater slot, the Punk Toilet slot, and the Folsom Prison slot.
I found the Little Bighorn slot a fantastic new addition to Nolimit City's portfolio, especially if you enjoy such unique themes. The visuals and graphics are excellent and perfectly convey the provider's signature aesthetic.
The gameplay was also impressive and engaging. Since I'm familiar with the provider's way of doing things, complex gameplay is what I expected. Overall, it can be an excellent choice for players who prefer such games, plus there is a maximum win potential of up to 25,676x the stake!
