Holmes And The Stolen Stones Slot Review

Yggdrasil used the story of the most popular detective in history – Sherlock Holmes to create Holmes and the Stolen Stones slot, a fun and curious game which features not one but 5 progressive jackpots. This slot has a standard outline with five reels, three rows and 20 paylines and it can be played with a minimum amount of 1p per payline. If you like Sherlock themed stuff and are a fan of the famous tenant of Baker Street 221B, you will surely enjoy this Yggdrasil game.

Game Overview

There’s no need to talk too much about Sherlock, everybody already knows who he is and in Holmes and the Stolen Stones slot you follow, or rather lead Sherlock and his aide Doctor Watson in their quest to find a set of valuable stones which have been stolen. You’ll notice traditional London alleyway doors on each side of the reels and the Victorian sounding background music will only enforce the atmosphere of suspense. This game was released in the autumn of 2015.

Holmes and the Stolen Stones slot features two types of symbols – the four card suits which are of lower value and symbols directly connected with the theme – a magnifying glass, a book, Watson and Sherlock himself which are more valuable. In addition, there are also special symbols, a Bonus Symbol and a Free Spins symbol.

You will need a combination of at least three symbols left to right across a payline in order to win and in the bonus game you can win heftier prizes and collect diamonds and with five collected diamonds you will hit one progressive jackpots. Above the five reels you can see the current progressive jackpot amounts for each of the five jackpots.

How to Play

The set of buttons below the reels and the overall game options are rather simple. In Holmes and the Stolen Stones slot, you wager one coin per payline and you can choose the amount you wish to wager by adjusting the coin value. With the ‘Max Bet’ button you can wager the maximum possible amount which in the case of Holmes and the Stolen Stones slot is £40 – two quid per payline.

With the Autoplay button you can set the reels to keep spinning without having to press play before each spin. You can set the reels to spin ad infinity or for a limited number of times, but you can always stop the autoplay mode simply by clicking on the ‘Autoplay’ button again.

It’s not just the minimum stake of 20p and the maximum of £40, there’s a range of options in between. For example, if you set your stake per payline at 5p, then the total stake will be £1, whereas if you wish to wager 10p per spin you will be placing a total of £2 per spin.

If you open the Options panel, you’ll notice that there’s a range of more advanced options. For example, you can activate an option that will stop the autoplay mode after ever win, or after every win of a specific amount of money or above. You can also activate the option to spin the reels with by clicking space, so you won’t have to use the mouse at all.

How to Win

All 20 paylines are always active in Holmes and the Stolen Stones slot, so there’s no option of adjusting the number of paylines you wager on. The potential winnings depend on the wagered amount. The lowest payout is for a combination of three diamond or club symbols – 20 coins, whereas for a combination of five spades you will score 200 coins.

Thematic symbols are a lot more valuable, you will win 40 coins for three magnifying glasses, 70 coins for three Sherlocks and if you manage to hit a combination of five Sherlock symbols you will win the highest non-progressive jackpot in Holmes and the Stolen Stones – 4,000 coins. Consider that if you play with £2 per payline that will amount to £8,000.

A combination of five special symbols, regardless whether it is the Free Spin symbol, or the Bonus symbol activates a bonus game but also generates a 10,000-coin non-progressive jackpot. Diamonds collected in the bonus game trigger one of the progressive jackpots.

A fraction of each wager on Holmes and the Stolen Stones slot goes towards the progressive jackpots prize pool. A 3.4% of every pound wagered is divided in five parts and fills each of the five progressive jackpot pools. The first jackpot seeds at £40, whereas the last at £10,000. There is no maximum jackpot limit, the amount will keep increasing with each wager until somebody wins the jackpot.

Holmes and the Stolen Stones Slot Bonus Features

The number of free spins is always 10, but with four symbols you also get a 1,000-coin prize, whereas with 5 you get 10,000. If you manage to collect 5 diamond shards of the same colour you come closer to winning one of the progressive jackpots.
