ELK Studios has created the Buffalo Toro slot with a 6x4 grid and 4,096 paylines. The gameplay was pretty straightforward, with wins requiring at least three matching symbols to land on successive reels from left to right.

The lowest possible bet is 20p, while the highest option is capped at £50 per spin. I found these options quite good, even though they might not suit players who prefer higher stakes.

Design, Symbols and Graphics

The Buffalo Toro reels are in a canyon area where you can find cacti and other sparse vegetation. The sun sets in the backdrop, and the orange sky makes the surroundings more authentic and immersive.

The colour on the reels is not very appealing, but it is light enough to clearly show the symbols. This animal-themed slot can be pretty entertaining, plus the influence of the classic buffalo slots is evident in both the visuals and the soundtrack.

Eleven symbols are on the paytable, and the low-paying ones are the 9-A card symbols. These pay 0.8x to 1.6x the stake, while the bears, wolves, cougars, eagles and bulls, which make up the high-paying group, pay 2.4x to 6x the stake.

A regular wild symbol in the Buffalo Toro slot replaces typical pay symbols in winning combinations. Multiplier wilds are also in play, and you can get a multiplier of x2 or x3 on it applied to the wins it is part of.

Gameplay and Features on Buffalo Toro Slot

There are more features which we'll discuss below. We had a great experience with most of them, so we'll share what we learned from testing the game.

Walking Wild and Toro Goes Wild Feature

In addition to the regular and multiplier wilds, I encountered a Toro wild, which moves to the left after landing. The Toro Goes Wild feature triggers if this wild and the Matador symbol land simultaneously. Toro moves towards the Matador, leaving a trail of regular wilds behind.

Matador Respins Feature

Land 2 Matadors and trigger a respin. The Matadors will stay on the grid while new ones or blanks may land. Any new Matador symbol will award another respin.

Bonus Game Feature

Managing to land 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters will award 8, 12, 16, or 20 free spins. If one of them is a super bonus symbol, the Super bonus game starts. During the feature, two scatters award +4 free spins.
 
The bonus game collects the gold buffalo symbols making them regular buffalos. Every third one will turn the lowest premium symbol into buffalos for the duration of the bonus game. The maximum amount of buffalos you can collect is 12.
 
The super bonus round has the same rules. In addition, the Rampage Reels, which contain only buffalo symbols, also trigger for each of the three gold buffalos collected. You can activate 2, 3, 4, or 5 Rampage Reels by collecting 3, 6, 9, or 12 gold buffalos.

X-iter Feature

X-iter is the Bonus Buy option which allows you to activate a feature for the cost of your bet. However, this option isn't available in the UK.
