There are species of bears that are to be feared and some that can only be adored, like the panda bear or the Himalayan moon bear. Fear the Bear slot is dedicated to the koala and we suspect there isn't a single thing in the world that fears it, save for eucalyptus leaves.

The slot game that has the Australian bush for its theme features a number of animals and a reel-set that features wild koalas that can climb atop the eucalyptus tree. This is a Playtech game, so we can expect a fun and entertaining time on the reels.

The game starts with five reels and four rows that spin across 50 always active paylines. The defining feature of the game are the koala wilds, which appearing on the reel, will stay sticky and move up with with each spin. They will reside up on the tree until four have become stacked.

Fear the Bear Design

The game offers an unusual design in that it's been optimized for mobile and tablet but not quite for your computer screen. The reel set is very vertical and the eucalyptus stalks too tall. Nevertheless, the game is fun to play and the graphics are decent.

The free spins bonus changes the game's background and that is about the only thing that Fear the Bear slot does differently from the usual. None of the symbols, except the koala bears, are animated, so whether it is a winning or a losing outcome, the animals are as if taxidermied.

How to Play Fear the Bear Slot

The game makes the pays with three or more matching symbols falling on a payline from left to right. The paytable is dynamic and reflects symbol wins according to the selected bet. With the biggest wager of £500 Fear the Bear slot can turn up the jackpot prize of £25,000 when five scatters stop on the reels.

Playtech can do better in their productions, as they have certainly done better with all, but better say, most of their previous releases. Fear the Bear slot is really an oddball in how it is designed. But even the stacked reels with wilds didn’t warrant a vertical layout for the sake of having that feature. This comes at the cost of the game appearing weird, but in and of itself it is just a normal online slot.
