It was two years ago when Pragmatic Play released the original John Hunter and the Book of Tut slot. Now, it adds a bit more spice in the form of features and give’s players a chance to enjoy the renowned edition!

In the John Hunter and the Book of Tut Respin slot, Pragmatic Play kept the 5×3 grid with 10 paylines. That allows players to make winning combinations by positioning 3-5 matching symbols adjacently left to right on a payline.
Besides the upgrade, this game isn’t one of those slots loaded with features. Yet, it focuses on respins and free spins, allowing players to win up to 4,000x the stake. The betting range is optimal and starts at 10p, going up to £100 on a single spin.
Design, Symbols and Graphics
There aren’t many differences between this remake and the game's original. The desert in the backdrop, old constructions, or temple ruins are at the centre of attention in the base game. It is sunset time in the base game, while in the bonus round, there are fortunes in the backdrop.
The low-paying 10-A car symbols on the paytable have 5x to 10x the stake values. The jewellery, a cat statue, a Pharaoh-type symbol, and John Hunter are premiums with 30x to 100x the stake values.
I don’t see any wilds to become expanding here as in many other “Book of..” slots. However, there are Mystery symbols which grow to cover the whole reel, but more about that later! The Book scatter also has the role of a wild replacing all pay symbols in winning combinations.

You can trigger this feature both in the base game and the bonus game. On a random spin in the base game, a random symbol becomes Mystery one for that spin. If 3 mystery symbols appear on separate reels, after any payout on that spin, they expand on the reel.
The Mystery symbols become locked in place and other reels spin. Any new mystery symbols lock in position, expand, and other reels respin. If we don’t see any other mystery symbol landing, the respins end, and a payout consideration takes place. Expanded symbol paylines don’t need to be adjacent.
Free Spins Feature
If 3, 4, or 5 Book scatters land in view, you’ll get 10 free spins and 2x, 20x or 200x, respectively. Like in respins, one random symbol becomes a Mystery symbol, which expands to the whole reel anytime it lands. They can also trigger the Respins feature during this bonus round. Three or more book scatters retrigger the round, and there are no limits to the retriggers.
