Having experienced a very long list of fruit-themed slots first-hand, we didn’t expect a complex way of playing in any sense and for the most part, we were not wrong. We found the straightforward grid of 5 rows and 5 reels quite fitting for such a relaxing game, but the cluster pays system, instead of paylines, is a really dynamic upgrade.

One thing that we consider a downside of the Fruity Burst 2 slot is the betting range. The options, which range from £0.10 to £5 per spin, are fitting for players who prefer smaller stakes. On the other hand, our high rollers did not find them very appealing.

Design, Symbols and Graphics

Compared to the original game, the Fruity Burst 2 slot comes with some serious upgrades in the visual department. We loved the amped-up graphics and the bright and vibrant colours. The game also includes some great sound effects, which made our experience a lot more entertaining.

The reel set is very interestingly designed to look like a wooden basket, while the backdrop shows a fruit stand. There is a rather realistic feeling to it all, enhanced even more thanks to the gloomy salesman on the right.

All symbols in the game are presented by fruits and starting from the bottom, there is an orange, an apple, a raspberry, a lemon, a strawberry, and a mandarin. They are all animated, which can make it even more enjoyable. Special symbols include a scatter and a powerball symbol, but we didn’t come across any wilds.

There is something about the cluster pays mechanic, paired with the cascading feature that makes video slots curiously appealing and enjoyable. Like in other games, this feature removes winning symbols and replaces them with new ones, which can result in additional wins on the same spin.

Free Spins Feature

Despite the frequent wins, it did take us a while to land 3 scatters and activate the Free Spins bonus round, but we were very pleasantly surprised at how the feature plays out. Namely, it starts on the basic 5x5 grid and with every powerball symbol, the grid is increased by 1 row and column.

The feature continues until you manage to increase the grid to its maximum size of 8 rows and 8 reels. The feature goes on until a win is made on this giant layout.

Overall, compared to the original, the Fruity Burst 2 comes as a great upgrade. Both the visuals and the gameplay have been enhanced and improved, which impressed us, to say the least. However, looking at it on its own, the game is pretty much similar to so many of the other games in this genre.

On the other hand, the cascades, paired with the cluster pays system is a great combo, which we genuinely enjoyed. Plus, the Free Spins and the expanding grid can deliver some potentially lucrative outcomes.
