The sports betting news from the United States is not stopping. While we’re talking about Playtech expanding in Michigan and New Jersey, DraftKings has come up with a new announcement. And given the number of new sportsbooks and market expansion across the US, it’s not surprising that many states broke sports betting records for the previous months.

As we said, we’ll be talking about DraftKings in this article. Namely, after the successful launch of its sportsbook in New York, DraftKings has now announced that it will become the official sportsbook of the Oregon Lottery.

Replacing the current Scoreboard app

DraftKings is one of the most popular sports betting and daily fantasy sports operators that delivers a variety of gaming products across different platforms. The high-quality work has helped DraftKings to expand across different markets, including the one we share today.

DraftKings’ agreement with the Oregon Lottery marks the second exclusive lottery agreement the company has made after the deal in 2019 with the New Hampshire Lottery. According to the agreement, DraftKings will replace the current Scoreboard app on January 18th. The existing players will be able to transfer their funds to an account with the new brand at that time.

Commenting on the announcement, Paul Liberman, Co-Founder and President, Global Technology and Product at DraftKings, said: “DraftKings is thrilled to embark on this journey with the Oregon Lottery, as we build out a coast-to-coast presence with our top-rated online sportsbook, for these fans to experience ahead of the NFL playoffs and Super Bowl.

“The Oregon Lottery shares our innovative spirit as one of the most progressive organisations in the real-money gaming sector, and together we look forward to delivering the exceptional online sportsbook products Oregonians have been anticipating.”

Barry Pack, Director, Oregon Lottery, added: “We’re excited about the improved experience for our players – including the ability to make same-game parlay bets. DraftKings is a premier provider in the US. We see benefits for the lottery, too, as the shift to DraftKings means fewer third-party service providers and a simpler financial structure for player accounts.”

Scientific Games strikes a deal with Wazdan

Apart from DraftKings and Oregon Lottery, more exciting news is coming to the iGaming scene. Yesterday, it was announced that Scientific Games signed an exclusive agreement with Wazdan, expanding the company’s offering across the US.

Scientific Games will expand its offering through the OpenGaming platform. It will partner with Wazdan to provide mobile-friendly games to players in New Jersey and West Virginia. Wazdan is planning to expand to more states across the US, and it is currently finalising agreements in Michigan and Pennsylvania.

Steve Mayes, Partnership Director, SG Digital, said: “This exclusive aggregation partnership further strengthens the wide range of games we can offer players in key regulated states across the US through our OpenGaming platform, which incorporates responsible gaming tools.

“Everyone within the industry knows how talented the team at Wazdan are and what they bring to the table. We thoroughly believe players across the US will enjoy their fantastic portfolio of slots just as much as everyone else across the world does.”

Michal Imiolek, Wazdan COO, commented: “Scientific Games is a company that needs no introduction, being one of the leading players in the industry. We’re delighted to partner with them in this exclusive agreement.

“Our progress in the US has been our greatest success this year. We can’t wait to work closely with Scientific Games going forward and expand our footprint in the US, providing players with immersive experiences.”
