William Tell & the Wild Arrows slot is played across a grid of 5 reels and 3 rows and features 25 paylines. The minimum bet amount is £0.25 while the maximum bet amount is £25. In order to win you have to connect at least three matching symbols across a payline.

Design, Symbols and Graphics

Since William Tell is a Swiss folk hero, iSoftBet has done its best to reproduce the stunning views that Switzerland is known for. The colour palette features blue, green and brown while mountains may be seen in the background. There is a lake just below the grid. The grid itself is made out of wood, and the music seems to be inspired by something that would be in a William Tell film.

In terms of symbols, there are a fair few and they are divided into low-paying, medium-paying and high-paying symbols. The low-paying symbols are the standard card royals (J, Q, K, A) their maximum win ranges from 1x to 2x the stake.

The mid-pay symbols are the crossbow, tree, and tower with their maximum win ranging from 2.4x to 4x the stake. As for high-paying symbols, we have the soldier, the lady, Gessler and William Tell. Their maximum win ranges from 6x to 16x with William Tell being the highest-paying symbol.

There’s also the Wild Symbol which substitutes all paying symbols to form winning combinations, and the Respin Symbol which triggers the bonus feature.

Gameplay and Features of William Tell & the Wild Arrows Slot

The William Tell & the Wild Arrows slot has a few special features which I will now explain in more detail.

William’s Wild Arrow Feature

William’s Wild Arrow may trigger randomly on any base game spin. When it does, it may turn up to 5 symbols as Wilds.

Gessler’s Greed Feature

Gessler’s Greed may trigger at random before any base game spin. When it triggers, it removes all low-paying symbols for that spin only.

Hold & Win Feature

To trigger the Hold & Win feature, 5 or more Respin symbols must land. The triggering symbols remain in place and you are granted 3 respins. During the Hold & Win feature, Respin symbols have a random multiplier value on them (from 2x up to 100x the stake). If Respin lands during the Hold & Win feature, you are granted 3 respins.

During the Hold & Win feature, Prize Symbols may land. There are three Prize Symbols and they are Mini (20x the stake), Major (50x the stake), and Grand (100x the stake).

Finally, the Split Zones Feature may activate at random on any respin. When it does, an arrow splits empty slots into 4 smaller slots. It can also split Respin Symbols and they will retain their original values. And, it can also split Prize symbols. The Hold & Win feature ends when you run out of respins. At this point, the Prize Symbols values are summed up and added to your winnings.

In my opinion, William Tell & the Wild Arrows is an enjoyable slot. It doesn’t bring anything that hasn’t been seen already in terms of game mechanics. This may be a negative to some, but a positive for beginner players. The overall presentation is top notch and iSoftBet deserves a lot of praise on that front.
