Knowing the types of gaming experiences that Nolimit City creates, we were quite intrigued to see a simple layout of 3 rows and 5 reels. This grid can expand to be 5 rows high during the bonus features though, but it is not nearly as complex as their other titles. 

In the beginning, the Road Rage slot offers 99 ways to win, but this number increased to 259 once we managed to trigger the bonus feature and expand the grid. For symbols to deliver a win, at least 3 of them need to be adjacent horizontally or diagonally, starting from the leftmost reel.

We found the betting range quite suitable for most types of players, as you can choose an option between £0.20 and £100 per spin.

Design, Symbols and Graphics

Not much is shown with the visuals of the Road Rage slot, but the developers have managed to subtly capture and convey a fitting atmosphere. The backdrop shows a bird's view of a street and you can also see the road verge on the sides.

The reel set on the other hand is placed in the middle of the street, which would undoubtedly trigger someone’s road rage if they were to pass there. We didn’t find anything too exciting about the design of the reels, so let’s move on to the paytable.

All of the symbols in the Road Rage slot are theme-related, so you won’t find any card royals here. Low-paying symbols are presented as review mirrors, smartphones, air fresheners, punctured tires, and coffee cups. The high-paying ones are depicted as 5 different-coloured drivers, with the top one being worth 5x the stake for a full payline.

We can also say that the Road Rage slot comes with an adequate array of special symbols as well, including wilds, scatters and mystery symbols.

Gameplay and Features on Road Rage Slot

Despite not being complex in terms of the layout, we came across a whole plethora of bonus features, which is quite typical for Nolimit City. Surprisingly though, the Road Rage slot doesn’t include any of the staple “X” features. Nevertheless, let’s dive into the details now.

Wild Cars Slot

There are 3 different-coloured cars in the Road Rage slot, and they all act as wild symbols. In addition to that though, each one of them comes with a modifier that can interestingly affect the gameplay. 

• Yellow Cars/Engine Breakdown – the size of all symbols on the respective reel will be increased by 1;
• Red Cars/Drive-By – drives from right to left, increasing the symbol multiplier by 1 for all symbols it passes;
• Green Cars/Drive-By: the same as the red car, but it drives from left to right.

In our gameplay, the red and green cars collided, which resulted in the sum of their multiplier being added to a Colliding Wild symbol.

Bonus Modes 

There are 3 different types of Bonus Modes in the Road Rage slot, which can be activated by landing 3, 4, or 5 scatters simultaneously for the Morning Rush, H1ghway Jam, and the City Mayh3m bonus, respectively. It took us a while to activate all 3 of them, but it was worth it.

No matter which Bonus Mode you are on, you can upgrade to the next one/s by landing the appropriate number of scatters. During each mode, up to 3 wild cars will become sticky, which we found quite helpful and exciting.

Rage Buff Feature

This feature played out before the start of the bonus mode and it consists of wilds cars driving across the grid and collecting more free spins or other types of benefits.

Mystery Symbols

We only saw these symbols during the bonus modes, where the limit is only 1 per reel. They reveal red, green, or yellow and if it matches a car on the reels, its multiplier will be boosted. On the other hand, an additional free spin will be awarded.

Nolimit Bonus Feature

Only available to players in select jurisdictions outside the UK, this feature can be used to directly activate the Bonus Modes. The Morning Rush, H1ghway Jam, and the City Mayh3m bonus cost 66x, 270x, or 666x the stake, but there is also an option of chance that costs 334x the stake.
