Ho Ho Tower Slot Review

Christmas is perhaps the most common slot game theme. These slots are usually released in the few week period before Christmas, but they are played throughout the year, as people love the cheerful Christmas mood and they sometimes want to get in a Christmas mood even if it’s July or August. Ho Ho Tower slot is one very Christmassy slot game, produced byELK Studios. The twist in this game, or what separates Ho Ho Tower slots form other Christmas-themed games is the fact that the action takes place in Hong Kong, i.e. you will get to experience a unique version of Christmas with an Asian feel to it.

Ho Ho Tower Overview

Ho Ho Tower slots offer just what you’d expect from a Christmas game. The symbols include Christmas candies, a Christmas tree, as well as a red flower which is popular in Hong Kong. It is constantly snowing, so you’ll be seeing snowflakes all over the reels the whole time.

There are strong lines that separate the reels or the rows, and the symbols take up most of the screen. The reels are set on the popular Hong Kong tower and the action is set during the evening, presumably Christmas Eve.

The soundtrack is also in the spirit of Christmas and you will recognise the tunes of many famous Christmas songs. When you win, you will hear special cheerful sounds that will let you know that you’re winning if you’re not watching the game at that moment. In addition to the music you will hear background sounds of people chatting at a busy Christmas market and the occasional car horn toot.

How To Play Ho Ho Tower

There are 99 ways to win in Ho Ho Tower slots, but the reels grid is standard, there are five reels and three rows. All paylines are active the whole time, so you have no option of activating or deactivating them.

The regular play button is located in the bottom right corner, over the respective symbol, whereas the auto play button is in the top right corner. When it comes to wagering, you will notice a button that features coins and a plus sign and you will need to click on it to adjust your wager.

Unlike in many other games in Ho Ho Tower slots your wager is not tied to particular paylines, you just get to select the total stake amount that you wish to place on your next spin, which makes things a lot easier. The minimum stake is 10p, but you could also wager 20p, 30p, and up to as much as £50.

Another feature that’s available in this game is the betting strategy. Namely, you can choose to employ a specific betting strategy, but you won’t have to adjust every wager, you can just set the game to do that for you, automatically. With the optimiser you can set how much of your bankroll you’d like to wager per spin, it starts with 1% which is a figure suitable for casual players, whereas high-rollers may bet up to 10% of their wager on a single spin.

Leveller, booster and jumper are the offered strategies. With leveller, your bet is raised by two levels after five losses in a row and it can grow only for two additional levels, i.e. up to ten times the original wager. The bet level is reset after a win. Booster is a similar strategy where your bet grows by one level after a win up to four levels and it also resets after a win. The jumper is a different strategy, here the bet level grows after a win, not after a loss. You are not limited to the strategies offered by Ho Ho Tower slots, you can choose your own strategy if you like.

How To Win Ho Ho Tower

It is calculated as if the game is played with 100 coins, so if you play with 10p, the coin value would be one tenth of a penny. There are only six standard symbols in Ho Ho Tower slots, the candies pay 40 coins for a combination of three, 60 for four and 80 coins for five same candy symbols on a payline.

The tree, the flower and the 7 symbol pay a lot more and you can get a maximum of 1,000 if you hit five 7s across a payline, whereas five flowers activate a 500-coin payment. In addition to the standard symbols, Ho Ho Tower slot also includes two special symbols, a bonus symbol and a mystery symbol.

The paylines only if the combination is formed from the left to the right, not the other way around and just with all other slots, the game only pays the highest winning combination, so if there are four symbols across a payline, you will only receive payment for four symbols, not for four and three simultaneously.

Ho Ho Tower Bonus Features

The Bonus game in Ho Ho Tower slots is activated by the bonus symbol, whereas the mystery symbol also increases your chances of winning.

Mystery Symbol

If you get the mystery symbol, it will turn into a different symbol at the end of the spin. If it is revealed as a bonus symbol it will be counted as five bonus symbols and will automatically activate the Bonus game which is otherwise activated by three or more bonus symbols.

Bonus Game

As we said, three or more bonus symbols activate the Bonus game. With three symbols the Bonus round will be activated, with four you will get one extra life in it, whereas with three symbols you will get to play two extra lives. There are three bonus wheels in the bonus game, and you could reach the top where massive prizes await.

You can win extra lives and go to the next level, but if you hit an empty screen and you don’t have any extra lives, the bonus game is over, and you are returned to the main game.
